You don’t need to be an athlete, but you should be in generally good health. All students must complete a medical questionnaire, and in some cases, a doctor’s clearance may be required.
Yes, basic swimming skills are required for scuba diving. You should be comfortable in the water and able to swim at least 200 meters and either float or tread water for 10 minutes without any swim of buoyancy aids.
Children can start scuba diving as young as 10 years old with our Junior Open Water Diver course. For younger kids from the age of 8 years old, we offer introductory programs like SSI Scuba Explorer.
